Community Membership Guide
Alternatives has always been about collaboration, about what we share rather than what separates us. What we all share, no matter who we are, is the desire for three basics that make life worth living: a real home, real job and real relationships. These are each pieces of community membership, and as an employee of Alternatives, it is your job to help the people we serve gain them
Think about these questions: How can the individual I serve attain a valued role in the community? How can I help support them in being seen by the community as more than their disability?
Think beyond attendance at community events, groups and activities. Ask yourself, what can the individual served become?
